The Runaways

The Runaways is just another rock bio pic...Directed by Floria Sigismondi The Runaways tells the story of how Joan Jett created The Runaways with teenage (Jail Bait) singer Cherie Currie...Like any good rock legend the runaways shoot to the top real fast... Babies in the world of sex and drugs... Based on Cherie's Memoir this film really focuses on Jett And Currie and there brief love affair...Not one of The Runaways bass players are portrayed in this film witch seems wrong...Joan Jett was one of the producers...Lita Ford is portrayed as a cunt... Casting of Dakotta Fanning and Kristen Stewart as the 2 leads is spot on...Sigismondi a vetran music video director does well homaging great rock films like Tommy,Help,The Wall,And Sid and Nancey...I rember in the early 90s Calvin Klien got in trouble for creating ads that looked like kiddie porn...We've come along way baby...The Runaways got away with it in the mid 70s

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

OK after weeks of having my Internet in disrepair and several vacations...I'm Back...Sorry about that...The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the first in Stieg Larsons Millennium Trilogy to hit the silver screen...Directed by Niels Arden Opley The girl is a Swedish thriller witch pits heroin Lisbeth Salander (Nomi Repace) against an inbreed family of Swiss blue bloods...Dragon Tattoo is not for the faint hearted and has to graphic rapes...Lisbeth is not a girl to fuck with though She gets her revenge and its awesome... All in all the film is entertaining...Don't watch it with your parents...

The Wolfman

Joe Johnstons remake of Universals 1941 horror classic The Wolfman unfortunately falls short...The A-list cast featuring Benicio del Toro,Sir Anthony Hopkins,Hugo Weaving, and Emily Blunt fail to bring freshness to the old lycanthropy tale...It could be that in the 21century the simple tale of the Wolfman is just a little to simple in the age of Underworld...Give me The American Werewolf in London or The Howling over this big budget mess any day
