The Lives of Others

The Lives of Others is thrilling drama set in the later years of East Berlin...Directed by Florian Henckell Von Donnesmarck ( I'm only typing that once) The Lives of Others follows Stasi Captain Gerd Wiesler played by Ulrich Muhe as he investigates playwright Georg Dreyman(Sebastian Koch) for the G.D.R. government...The Lives of Others won the Academy Award for best foreign language film in 2006...I'd say it deserved it...Life in the totalitarian East Berlin must of been tough for free thinkers...Even under that repression there is room for men to be morale and do the right thing...
