Moon is a Claustrophobic Science fiction drama presented by first time director Duncan Jones...Sam Rockwell delivers a fantastic performance as Sam Bell...Sam is employed by Lunar Industries they harvest Helium 3 from the dark side of the moon send it back to earth for use in nuclear fusion a clean energy...Sam has 2 weeks left on his 3 year contract...Kevin Spacey's performance is a bit robotic, but that's a good thing....Since he's the voice of Gerdy the robot Sam's only companion on the lunar station...Jones creates an atmosphere of isolation for Sam obviously inspired by Kubrick's 2001 and Tarkovsky's Solaris...Is Sam cracking up from 3 years loneliness... The comparisons of Moon And 2001 are again very clear...Is Gerdy like H.A.L???Is Sam hallucinating??? The score by Clint Mansell really sets the mood...This is good smart Sci Fi...
